The Board of Directors for The Greater Detroit Chapter of APICS are nominated and elected by active members. Board members hold their position for a period of one year, and meetings take place at least six times a year. Jill Hays CPIM, CSCP , CLTD- President
Jill Hays brings with her over 20 years of experience in Supply Chain with expertise in the planning, forecasting and replenishment, process reengineering and supply chain optimization through analytics, strategic team development, process improvement and the use of enabling technologies.
Jill Hays is a Supply Chain Optimization professional at Adient, the world’s largest automotive seating supplier and an Instructor for both public and custom corporate classes for APICS.
Ms. Hays holds a Bachelors Degree in Management from Eastern Michigan University, and holds CPIM, CSCP and CLTD certifications from APICS.

The president of the APICS Greater Detroit Chapter leads and represents the chapter, follows up, keeps the board on track, and helps in meeting the goals and objectives in the marketing plan. It also presides chapter meetings, proposes policies and practices, and performs other duties as defined in the bylaws.

Alyssa Rollins – Executive Vice President
Alyssa is a Commodity Buyer at Ford Motor Company ensuring best-in-class cost, quality, and technical capability from Ford’s supply base. Alyssa holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management from Eastern Michigan University. She also has held roles at Pet Supplies Plus and Dadco, focusing on merchandise planning, distribution network optimization, and KPI’s.

The Executive Vice President of the Detroit Chapter is responsible for the development of the chapter, outreach to the supply chain community and is the incoming Chapter President.

Joann Parrinder, CPIM, CSCP, CLTD, PMP – VP Administration
Joann is a seasoned Project Manager having served in several industries: health care, banking, automotive, and IT consulting. Her diversified background and experience in OEM product development programs (e.g. radios, satellite radio tuners, Bluetooth HF modules), and process management, IT ERP and capacity planning, application development cycle and operations, and IT project management, has provided her with a broad business perspective that focuses on value for the customer and profit for company. She has practical application using processes, e.g. SDLC, APQP, ISO-TS16949, and CMMI. Joann has a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Wayne State University and a B.S. from Central Michigan University with a major in Math/IT. She is a PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certified and APICS CPIM and CSCP She is also an APICS Instructor.

The Vice President of Administration records and distributes the minutes of the Board of Director meetings, maintains documentation of standard operating procedures, and performs educational administration tasks: registers students, procures educational material for APICS classes, sets up virtual class invitations, creates and distributes welcome letters to students and rosters to instructors, and maintains class schedule with assigning available instructors.

Sandra Kepler CPIM, CSCP – VP of Communications
Sandra brings 15+ years of Supply Chain experience. She has held roles in the Agriculture and Automotive Industries. Her experience goes from materials management to purchasing and planning. Sandra has a passion for leading teams in cross functional and multicultural environments for process improvement. She has had the opportunity to improve processes, generate cost savings and create engagement at the companies in which she has been a part of.

Vice President, Communications is responsible for coordinating and disseminating chapter information to members and other interested parties, primarily through the chapter newsletter, social media such as Twitter and LinkedIn, and the chapter website.

Becky Ferrell CSCP – VP of Private Education
Becky is an Independent Consultant specializing in Supply Chain management and improvement. With over 30 years of Supply Chain experience in the Automotive industry, she has a broad background in lean manufacturing and using best practices to improve material flow and inventory management. She has international experience, overseeing greenfield launches and brownfield transitions in several countries, building teams and finding creative ways to work in multiple cultures.

Matt Stekier – VP of Finance
Matt has more than 20 years of experience serving clients and leading process improvement initiatives in various industries including the Food & Beverage industry under FDA requirements. Utilizing his background as a Six Sigma Green Belt and certification in Theory of Constraints, as well as other Lean methodologies. Matt also specializes in supply chain network optimization and network design, process improvement in procurement and planning, in-plant material flow optimization and operational improvements, inventory reduction, and 3rd party logistics partner management.
Matt has utilized his knowledge to successfully lead multiple lean initiatives and process improvement projects on the manufacturing assembly floor, warehouse and distribution activities, in a machine shop environment, and in the administrative setting for back office functions. These activities have spanned a variety of industries, including high volume automotive production, military vehicle & construction equipment manufacturing, footwear & apparel, healthcare & medical device, food & beverage and low volume niche manufacturing.
Matt has a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics Management from Central Michigan University and received his Master’s Degree from Wayne State University.

David Reese CSCP – VP of Programs
David is a team leader with experience in purchasing, logistics, distribution planning, demand planning, and program management within the automotive, 3PL, and consumer packaged goods industries. He’s passionate about Supply Chain because it is where good relationships become business enablers, product moves around the world, and operations are made possible. Jim Semerad CPIM, PMP, Jonah – Director At Large, Military and Veteran Affairs
Jim is founder of JMSII Vision specializing in supply chain and logistics management strategy and planning, program management, government contracting, and information technology (IT). He engineered and lead global information technology projects and innovative next generation IT solutions with EDS, HP, VisionIT, etc. As a Senior Supply Logistics Officer for the US Navy, he lead contract management, warehouse, ground-sea-air transportation, hazardous material, energy and fuels, kitting, maintenance operations, automated identification, computer applications, shop floor, lean, agile, and six sigma. He has served as an adjunct professor, certified trainer, author, and presenter. He has a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and MBA in Management Finance from Louisiana Tech University and pursued advanced training in business strategy, international trade, and logistics. He holds positions on several non-profit Board of Directors.

He currently works at Stellantis in Manufacturing Logistics Engineering. Part time instructor at Eastern Michigan University, adjunct lecturer at Oakland University, and APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Master Instructor.
