VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNTIES!
Supply Chain and Operations Management professions are in need of volunteers!
APICS offers many great ways in which you can become an integral part of advancing the supply chain society.
Why get involved?
Volunteering through APICS gives you the opportunity to personally invest yourself into one of the most globally important professions there is. By volunteering, you can help to enhance others knowledge of the Supply Chain and Operations Management world, while further learning about your career through a leadership position. This is your chance to make your mark in the Supply Chain Management industry, and give back to the community that has grown you into the professional you are today.
How to get involved
- Volunteer on an APICS committee
- Contribute in the areas of education, certification, networking and professional development as a content expert or industry advocate. The committee structure includes both standing and ad hoc committees, which offer significant opportunities to guide the growth of your profession and give back to the Operations Management community.
- Professional Mentoring
- Mentor through the APICS education program where you can offer guidance to both graduate and undergraduate students in the world of Supply Chain and Operations Management
- Volunteer at an event or local program
- Check out our upcoming events and contact the event team at events@apicsdet.org
- Conduct research
- (Again, what would this consist of? What kind of research can be done? Can it be done at any location?)
- Financial support
If you would like to volunteer with the APICS Detroit community, contact:
Nate Joliff at President@apicsdet.org
or Jill Hays at jhays@apicsdet.org

APICS Student Resources
ASCM Michigan East is proud to have the following Student Chapter affiliated with our chapter.

APICS Student Chapter Eastern Michigan University

The Student Chapter Management Program is designed as a management tool for student chapters that are seeking to improve their processes, products, and services. It encourages the operation of a well-managed chapter that is properly balanced and effective in meeting its student member needs.
Chapter management requires attention to five categories: administration, education, programs, membership, and public relations. Activities within each category provide educational opportunities and enhance a chapter’s capabilities.
The second half of the program is designed to provide recognition for the chapters efforts. While participation in the recognition portion of the program is optional, it is strongly encouraged by APICS, districts, and chapters. Records show that participating student chapters have a strong membership base and significant support from their professional (parent) chapter and faculty advisor(s).
Participation in this program requires evidence of performance of measurable tasks in the five chapter management categories. The evaluation conducted by the Professional (parent) chapter enhances its relationship with the student chapter while the resulting documentation creates a roadmap for faculty advisors and future student chapter leaders.
The APICS Student Chapter Eastern Michigan University is doing great things! Learn more about their efforts and events on their website!
