APICS Greater Detroit Networking Event at B. Nektar Meadery

APICS Greater Detroit, the premier association for supply chain management, hosted a fun networking event and informative tour last week at B. Netkar, the largest meadery in the USA!

Approximately thirty people attended the event and enjoyed tasting drinks like the “Zombie Killer” their most popular cider that is a mixture of tart cherry juice, apple cider and star thistle honey. Many didn’t even know what mead was prior to the event, but will likely be back soon to try some more!

B. Nektar was founded in 2006 and they opened their location on National Mead Day, August 2nd, in 2008. Guided by geeky imagination, influenced by sub-pop culture and never satisfied with the status quo, B. Nektar aims to bring a modern twist on mead made from honey as well as craft cider and beer.

They continue to increase their production capacity and offer a robust selection of beverages as you can see from their current menu on the left. Check out their website for more information.

The tour included a review of their unique manufacturing process and customized equipment. The staff was very nice and accommodating – everyone loved the experience!
