APICS Greater Detroit NEW Virtual Certification Prep

APICS Greater Detroit NEW Virtual Certification Prep

Have you struggled to find the time to attend APICS certification classes in the past? At APICS Greater Detroit, we are excited to offer more flexible class options to help you advance in your career and earn a globally recognized certification!

Chuck Nemer, an instructor out of the APICS Greater Detroit and Twin Cities Chapter, will be your facilitator for our CPIM 1 class beginning in September 2019. The new format is called Concentrated Prep Course – Virtual Only. It is an online study/review format that meets every other Wednesday evening, on-line, from 6-9 PM. Chuck shares more about this new format below.

“The focus of the course format is to meet the needs of those who cannot meet every week in the evening, want to do a measure of the learning on their own and quicker, and are looking for a higher level of interaction between learners and the content along with the learning system.

We definitely do NOT go through every slide as much as I ask learners to read ahead, and do the online quizzes ahead of time. Students are asked to come prepared with the questions and concepts they are struggling with. We cover their specific questions and then move on to tell the story of the new topics, and engage in more test prep via the online learning system for the new topics covered.

I typically have activities for students to work with outside of class to help lock in their learning in advance of the test. So it’s not quite a boot camp approach, and it’s more than the weekly class for 14 weeks. Something in between and a proactive approach to go with it. So if you’re ready and focused on getting ‘over the hump’ and finishing off your CPIM certification, I hope you’ll join us.”

Chuck Nemer has been working with the APICS Greater Detroit chapter to create this new format based on classes he’s successfully delivered for companies located around the world. He’s been an instructor for CPIM since 1987 as well as an instructor for CSCP and CLTD certifications. He teaches supply chain strategy for Metropolitan State University in MN and is an educational support associate for a supply chain simulation called The Fresh Connection.
